Because plain beer is boring
Sustainability at TULA.
From the water that goes into every brew to what happens to the grain and liquid left behind, here's how we're working to reduce our impact — and where we're heading next.
Our roadmap
The road
to net zero.
We're currently building our Net Zero Roadmap and Transition Plan with our procurement and regulatory partner, Sustainable Energy First.
The goal: a full Net Zero Strategy and De-carbonisation Plan that sets out exactly how we'll cut our emissions across the business.

From plant to pint
Every step counts.
Follow our beer through the brewery to see what we're doing at each stage.
Drawn from our own borehole
All of the water in our beer comes from our on-site borehole — naturally filtered through the willow trees that surround us.
Spent grains into biogas
All of our spent grains and hops are collected, stored and sent to local anaerobic digesters, where they produce biogas for the gas network — the same network that supplies the gas we buy from our retailer to brew our beer.
Recycled & recyclable
All of the packaging we source — our aluminium cans and cardboard — is made from recycled materials, and is recyclable too.
Feeding local farmland
Some of our liquid waste goes to farmland as a natural nutrifier, adding valuable nitrogen to help crop yields.
Treated on site
Remaining waste liquids are treated and pH corrected on site before discharge, relieving pressure on the treatment works in our local area.
100% deep green power
We've signed up to the Sustainable Energy Consortium (SEC), giving us access to a 100% traceable, deep green, renewable electricity supply.
Closing the loop
Nothing goes to waste.
Brewing leaves behind grains and hops. Rather than throwing them away, we send every bit to local anaerobic digesters, where they become biogas that feeds back into the gas network our brewery runs on.
And the liquid left over? Some of it helps local farmers grow their crops, and the rest is treated on site before it leaves us.
Energy
Using less, cutting more.
We're fully compliant with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and have just signed off our latest action plan. Across the group, it could deliver:
A further reduction in energy consumption for the group, in kilowatt hours.
An estimated reduction of around 80 tonnes of CO₂ output.
With our latest action plan now signed off and in motion.
Because a plain planet is boring too.
This is a journey, not a finish line. We'll keep sharing our progress as our Net Zero Strategy takes shape.
